Beer & Pizza at the Boshoef - teambuilding

Friday, June 10th, my co-workers and I had 'Beer & Pizza'. That's how our teambuilding activity was named years ago. The activity we did this year was horseback-riding.
First we had to work. But at 12 O'clock we went to Meerhout, a small town 30 kilometers from where we work.
In Meerhout, you can find 'De Boshoef' a ranch where you can hire horses to make daytrips with horses. First we ate our sandwiches and then it was finally time to get on a horse!
I already had experience with riding a horse, but that was 13 years ago. But I was very keen on riding again.

First we got some information about the horses and everybody got a horse for the afternoon.

My horse's name is Cadans.

When everybody got themself a horse, it was time to go. We had to make a trip for about 3 hours in the woods near Meerhout and Geel. In the beginning, they taught us how to handle a horse, how to move right & left, how to stop, what to do about bugs, what to do if the horses wanted to eat some leafs, etc...

The weather was beautiful and my co-workers and me really enjoyed our trip. The fear some of my co-workers had, dissapeared really fast and everybody was so relaxed. After 2 hours we had a break. We had a glass of water to drink and we could go to the bathroom really fast. But then, it started to rain. Fortunately, when it was time to ride again, the rain stopped! Lucky us! In the second part of my trip, those who had ever went horseback-riding, could go for a gallop. So Thierry and me were the lucky ones. For about 15 minutes whe galopped on our own trough the woods. Heaven! It was really cool! What an experience. After that we joined our group again.

After 3 hours our journey had come to an end. It was time to get back to the ranch. But it was a really great experience and we really enjoyed our time with the horses.
